Süreyya Kalkan, the Muğla Provincial Representative of the Chamber of Food Engineers under the Turkish Chamber of Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), paid a visit to Reşit Özer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at his office. During the visit, they discussed promotional activities to be carried out as part of the 7th Traditional Foods Symposium, scheduled to take place in Gaziantep from October 1–3, 2026.

The meeting highlighted the importance of promoting Muğla’s traditional flavors and local products on a national scale, and ideas were exchanged regarding the strong representation of the province’s gastronomic values at the symposium.

MİTSO Board of Directors Chairman Reşit Özer stated that they are ready to provide support for the promotion of approximately 40 traditional products from Muğla, noting that they will contribute to the symposium through promotional brochures to be prepared. He emphasized that the promotion of geographically indicated products holds great importance both for the regional economy and for cultural heritage.

During the visit, the importance of inter-institutional cooperation was also highlighted to ensure that the rich culinary culture of Milas and Muğla reaches a wider audience.
