Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MİTSO) Chairman of the Board Reşit Özer visited Turkish Patent and Trademark Office President Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki Durak in his office. During the visit, comprehensive evaluations were made about Milas' geographically indicated products and the registration processes of these products.

In the meeting, the importance of geographical indications obtained for the purpose of protecting Milas' agricultural, cultural, and regional riches and increasing their economic value was emphasized. Ideas were exchanged between the parties on geographical indication processes, promotion strategies, and branding studies.

Making a statement after the visit, MİTSO Chairman of the Board Reşit Özer said, "We are working with all our might to introduce Milas' values and make our city a brand with our geographically indicated products. The support of our President Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki Durak is very valuable to us in this process."

Stating that Milas has covered significant distance in the geographical indication journey with many products from olive oil to honey, from carpet to olive, Özer expressed that such visits and collaborations will also make a positive contribution to the Milas economy.
