Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MİTSO) Chairman of the Board Reşit Özer and Assembly President Mustafa Yüksel visited Ramazan Özkaya, Chairman of the Central Union of Fisheries Cooperatives (SÜR-KOOP).

During the visit, eel, one of Milas' natural and economic riches, came to the agenda. The MİTSO delegation stated that they have started a preliminary evaluation study for the geographical indication registration of this important product unique to the region and exchanged views on the process.

During the visit, while emphasizing the production and flavor characteristics of eel unique to Milas, it was emphasized that the registration of this product would provide significant contributions to both producers and the regional economy.

MİTSO Chairman of the Board Reşit Özer said, “We are making an intense effort to protect Milas' values and carry them to the future by registering them. Eel is one of the special products we evaluate in this context. We thank Mr. Ramazan Özkaya for his hospitality and support.”
