UNIVERSITY-CHAMBER COLLABORATION FOR QUALITY EDUCATION FOR MİTSO MEMBERS
Prof. Dr. Burçak Boz Yaman and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Evren Yapıcıoğlu from the Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Lifelong Learning Application and Research Center visited Reşit Özer, Chairman of the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at his office.
During the visit, a comprehensive preliminary discussion was held on the professional and personal development training needed by the Milas business community. Topics discussed included identifying the current training needs of MİTSO members, preparing sector-specific training programs, and implementing these training programs through university-chamber cooperation.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, MİTSO Board Chairman Reşit Özer emphasized that quality education is one of the fundamental elements of economic development and made the following assessment:
"Education is very important for our members to be able to adapt to changing market conditions, increase their competitiveness, and achieve sustainable growth. We attach great importance to organizing training programs that directly respond to the needs of our members in collaboration with a strong academic institution such as Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University."
During the preliminary meeting, it was stated that training could be organized on many topics, including entrepreneurship, institutionalization, digitalization, foreign trade, financial literacy, brand management, sustainability, human resources, and leadership. In addition, it was agreed to conduct a survey of MİTSO members to clarify their training needs and plan certified training programs accordingly.
The visit concluded with the hope that the university-chamber collaboration would be strengthened and that educational projects adding value to the Milas business world would be implemented.
