"The Memory of Water: Milas" Exhibition Meets Art Lovers
Photographer Gül Sarıdikmen's solo exhibition, "The Memory of Water: Milas," which explores Milas' historical and spatial relationship with water, has opened. The exhibition began welcoming visitors with an opening program held at the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MİTSO) Meeting Hall.
Presenting a broad narrative stretching from the countryside of Milas to ancient water structures and natural water traces, the exhibition makes the water culture embedded in the city's memory visible through photographic frames. Protocol members, art lovers, and guests showed great interest in the exhibition opening.
Speaking at the opening, MİTSO Board Chairman Reşit Özer emphasized the great importance of conveying Milas' cultural and natural heritage through art. Özer said,
"Milas is a multi-layered city with its history, nature, and production culture. Such artistic works not only preserve the memory of our city but also contribute to passing it on to future generations. As MİTSO, we will continue to support
culture and art."
Reşit Özer also stated that Milas should be promoted not only for its economic aspects but also for its cultural, artistic, and historical identity, noting that such exhibitions make important contributions to the city's promotion.
The "Memory of Water: Milas" exhibition will be open to visitors in our chamber's meeting hall from January 28 to February 28, 2026.
