MİTSO Visits TÜRSAB Bodrum BTK: Inclusion of Milas in Tourism Routes on the Agenda

Reşit Özer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MİTSO); Mustafa Yüksel, Chairman of the Assembly; and Osman Kırkız, Plant Manager and Production Supervisor at Eminems Olive Oil Produce Food Tourism Construction Industry Trade Import Export Limited Company—a member of our Chamber—visited the TÜRSAB Bodrum Regional Representative Council.

Present at the meeting were Enver Kantarmış, Chairman of the TÜRSAB Bodrum Regional Representative Council, and board members Ozan Muammer Aydemir, Vefa Pisi, and Erçin Özen.

During the meeting, which served as a follow-up to the previous visit by the TÜRSAB delegation to MİTSO, the topic of more effectively leveraging Milas’s tourism potential was discussed. In particular, there was an exchange of views on how to reach broader audiences through tour operators regarding Milas’s rich historical and cultural heritage and on incorporating the district into tourism itineraries.

MİTSO Board of Directors Chairman Reşit Özer emphasized that Milas is a significant destination hosting 27 ancient cities, noting that directing more travel agencies and tour companies to Milas is of great importance for the district to receive its fair share of tourism revenue. In this context, he stated that cooperation with TÜRSAB must be strengthened.

During the visit, topics such as integrating local values—particularly Milas’s geographically indicated products—with tourism, and developing joint projects in the fields of gastronomy and cultural tourism were also discussed.

The visit, during which messages of mutual goodwill and cooperation were exchanged, concluded with an assessment of potential steps to enhance Milas’s visibility in the tourism sector.
