MİTSO MANAGEMENT ATTENDED THE INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY PROGRAM
As part of International Museum Day on May 18, Reşit Özer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mustafa Yüksel, Chairman of the Assembly, attended the event organized by the Milas Museum Directorate at the Uzunyuva Monumental Tomb and Museum Complex.
As part of the program, the unveiling of a replica of the Hekatomnos Sarcophagus, prepared under the theme “The Revived Face of the Past,” took place, while the art exhibition titled “From Caria to Milas” and the “Portraits of Hekatomnos” photography exhibition were also presented to visitors. The events also featured a string quartet performance and workshop sessions as part of the cultural preservationists’ training program.
It was noted that the “From Karia to Milas” art exhibition, opened as part of Museum Day events, will remain open to visitors until Friday, May 22.
Reşit Özer, Chairman of the MİTSO Board of Directors, emphasized the great importance of preserving Milas’s historical and cultural heritage, stating, “Milas is a very special city with its ancient heritage, archaeological values, and cultural richness. Such events make significant contributions both to promoting our past and to the development of cultural tourism. I would like to thank everyone who contributed.”
