Milas Olive on the Road to Europe: Çekişke Olive in the EU Official Journal!
Milas Çekişke Olive, one of the symbols of Milas's thousand-year-old olive culture, has crossed a critical threshold on its way to the European Union. The application, made through the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, was approved by the European Commission and published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
With this development, the Milas Çekişke Olive has entered a three-month objection period. Once the process is complete, the product will be officially registered in the European Union, further enhancing Milas' brand value internationally.
As a result of the work carried out under the leadership of the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, there are 14 registered products with geographical indications belonging to Milas. Two of these products are already registered with the European Union. With the EU registration of Milas Çekişke Olive, Milas's unique flavors will gain stronger protection and recognition in Europe.
Reşit Özer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the registration of Milas' local values on international platforms is a source of great pride, saying, "Our products with geographical indications are not just a flavor, they are the gateway to our culture and our labor to the world."
Along with Milas Çekişke Olive, Milas is once again declaring to Europe that it is one of the homelands of the olive, while also preparing to achieve a strong gain for regional producers and the local economy.
