INNOVATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE CLUSTERING IN OLIVE VALUE CHAIN (OASIS) PROJECT

The ‘Innovative and Sustainable Clustering in Olive Value Chain (OASIS) Project’, entitled to be supported under the Single Market Program (SMP COSME) by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), is carried out in partnership with Izmir Agriculture Technology Center (ITTM) under the coordination of Izmir Commodity Exchange from Turkey, CTNC (National Food and Canning Technology Center) and CCIS (Spanish Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) from Spain, CIHAEM Bari (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari) and Unioncamere Puglia (Union of Chambers of Commerce of Puglia Region) from Italy. The main goal of the project is to increase the resilience of a total of 150 SMEs, 50 SMEs from each country, producing table olives and olive oil, against climate change and external factors through trainings on sustainability practices, applications and technologies that will increase raw material and resource efficiency. Companies with SME status producing table olives and olive oil located in the Aegean Basin in Turkey will be able to benefit from the project. Participation is limited to 50 companies. By conducting a Sustainability Assessment, the current resource efficiency of the companies will be analyzed. Free training and consultancy services will be provided to support them in making their production processes more efficient according to the current situation analyzes. Training topics will include subjects such as circular production, resource efficiency, digital transformation, green transformation, smart agriculture technologies. SMEs with good practice examples will be determined and matchmaking activities will be carried out between SMEs and institutions participating from Italy, Spain, and Turkey to increase their promotion and awareness across the EU. In addition, information from KOSGEB experts and opportunities to participate in the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) will be offered throughout the project duration.
