As part of the work carried out under the leadership of our chamber, Milas Handwoven Rugs, one of Milas's geographically indicated products, became the subject of an international commercial cooperation. Ten geographically indicated Milas Handwoven Rugs purchased by Dr. Tamer Atalay, President of the Romania-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were shipped to Bucharest.

This shipment represents an important step in promoting Milas's deep-rooted handicrafts and local production capacity abroad, and is considered a concrete development in strengthening trade relations between Turkey and Romania. The international recognition of geographically indicated products is of great importance both for the preservation of cultural heritage and the support of the local economy.

Reşit Özer, Chairman of our Chamber's Board of Directors, made the following statement on the matter:
