During the events held at the Uzunyuva Monumental Tomb and Museum Complex as part of International Museum Day on May 18, the booth set up by the Ada Milas Local Products Marketing Cooperative drew significant attention.

At the event, which highlighted Milas’s cultural values, locally crafted products—including the Milas Handwoven Rug, a geographically indicated product—were presented to visitors. The Milas Handwoven Rugs, reflecting traditional motifs and weaving culture, were examined with interest by both local and foreign visitors.

While Cooperative President Hüseyin Ergün and cooperative members provided information about the products to visitors, they also explained the efforts being made to preserve Milas’s deep-rooted weaving culture and pass it on to future generations.

MİTSO Board of Directors Chairman Reşit Özer noted that the Milas Handwoven Rug is one of the district’s most important cultural assets, stating, “The Milas Handwoven Rug is a highly valuable cultural heritage spanning from the past to the present. Promoting this asset, supporting its production, and passing it on to new generations is of great importance. This booth, opened as part of Museum Day, has beautifully reflected Milas’s cultural richness. I congratulate everyone who contributed to this effort.”

It was noted that the booths opened as part of the event contributed to an important promotional effort by bringing together Milas’s historical heritage and traditional production culture.
