The Joint Professional Committee Meeting, organized by the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MİTSO), was held at the chamber’s service building. The meeting addressed the economic outlook for 2026, ongoing initiatives, and projects for the coming period.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, MİTSO Board of Directors Chairman Reşit Özer noted that Milas’s potential is becoming increasingly evident with each passing day and touched upon the goals for 2026. Özer stated that Milas has gained strong momentum in the fields of production, agriculture, and tourism, and noted that efforts to increase added value, particularly in the olive and olive oil sectors, are ongoing.
Highlighting the contribution of geographically indicated products to the branding process, Özer noted that trade fairs and promotional events play a significant role in this process. Stating that participation in trade fairs to be held in various cities in the coming period will be ensured, Özer emphasized the importance of producers’ active participation in these events. He also noted that investments in the Milas Organized Industrial Zone are proceeding as planned, adding that the industrial infrastructure continues to strengthen. He further stressed that fire safety and occupational health issues must not be neglected in businesses.
MİTSO Assembly Chairman Mustafa Yüksel, who also spoke at the meeting, drew particular attention to the rising costs in the olive and olive oil sectors. Noting that producers are struggling with increasing expenses, Yüksel highlighted the importance of branding and value-added production for sustainable profits.
Yüksel also shared the latest developments regarding the organized industrial zone, stating that new zoning regulations have paved the way for the region to benefit more effectively from available support.
Committee members who spoke throughout the meeting expressed their demands and suggestions regarding their sectors and engaged in a mutual exchange of views. The meeting concluded following general evaluations.
