*Applications for the Muğla Olive Oil Quality Competition, which started on December 9, will end on January 17, 2025. Applications have started for the Muğla Province Olive Oil Quality Competition, which will be held for the sixth time this year by the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Applications will end on January 17, 2025. Olive oil producers who want to participate in the competition must be registered trademark owners, their products must be actually sold in the market, they must have a "Business Registration Certificate" issued by the Ministry or be a producer who has contract manufacturing or exports in a business with this permission, oil millers, merchants, industrialists, companies or must be entered in the farmer registration system at the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and have at least 2 decares of olive groves. While the olive oils to participate in the competition must be obtained from olive groves within the Muğla region, there is no restriction on the olive type. In the competition where each participant can apply with a sample of olive oil, olive oils receiving 85 – 100 points in sensory and chemical analysis will be awarded with gold medals, those receiving 70 – 84 points with silver medals, and those receiving 55 – 69 points with bronze medals. To participate in the competition, the completely filled participation form along with 4 samples of olive oil in 250 ml bottles must be delivered to the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry until 16.00 on Friday, January 17, 2025.
